pfreimIf you know me at all, you know this much is true. Beer is not my first love. Wine, and especially sparkling wine, owns my heart. But when I heard about?this up and coming beer dinner with one of my favorite brewers at one of my most beloved?Portland establishments, I reserved my space?immediately. On October 19th, Altabira welcomes pFriem Family Brewers for a 4-course craft beer dinner.?Guests will enjoy a 4-course gastropub-style menu prepared by chef de cuisine Luis Escorcia and pastry chef Natalie Harkness, paired with craft beers from pFriem.

The reception begins at?6:30 p.m.
4-course dinner is from 7:00-9:00 p.m.
ONLY 20 SEATS AVAILABLE (and I already snatch?2 of those)!
A reasonable?$50 per person includes drinks and food. Gratuity not included.

Reception
Dungeness crab deviled eggs
Avocado toast, lime, cilantro
Braised short rib and horseradish crostini
Pairing: Wit – with aromas of orange peel and spice, light-creamy flavor and a refreshing finish

First Course
Diver scallop crudo with pickled sea beans, chorizo bread crumbs, parsley pesto
Pairing: Pilsner – crisp and snappy, floral hops, honey with a spicy finish

Second Course
Mixed chicories Caesar salad, Spanish anchovy
Pairing: Belgian Strong Blonde – pear and clove bouquet, clean maltiness and invigorating flavor

Third Course
Oxtail and beef tongue stew, turnips, acorn squash, cipollini onions
Pairing: Belgian Strong Dark – figs, dark chocolate, ripe fruit and toffee

Dessert
Apple and quince tartin with cherry sauce
Pairing: ?Oude Kriek? – year old Lambic-style ale, bright acidity, nutty undertones and a tangy finish
